We’d been trying to reserve a spot in this park while we were in Butte, but it was a 3 hour drive, they had one spot left and it was first come first served, and no way for the ranger to hold it for us. So we waited in Butte until Monday when the holiday revelers had left and drove up.
So glad we came here. It was a lovely state park with sites that faced the water and the weather was warm
The campground is on the east of Flathead Lake and we were surrounded by apple, pear and cherry orchards. And no people.
We had sun all the afternoon and some really nice sunsets here. So we stayed for 3 days to lap it up
The lake was always calm and peaceful. It might have been a different story over the previous weekend, but this was how we found and left it
While we were here we stopped at the local town of Polson to get supplies and make ourselves presentable again.

We really enjoyed this area, there were some very nice homes along the shore and the town had a very homey feel.
Next stop is across the border and into Western Canada, another first for both of us.
