Next stop was the Lake Havasu State Park for the Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair, along with Heidi and Mark.
We we’re lucky to book sites at the Havasu State Park as the park was “ground zero” and walking distance to all the festivities. Not only did we get 2 cancellations for sites but even got a 3rd. for Mark’s brother Peter and his wife Janna.
Once we were all settled in we walked over to the food area and were entertained by the local band.
Night Glow was very cool with synchronized lighting.
The first day of ballooning was cancelled due to wind, but the following morning we watched over 30 balloons take part in the mass assention.
The last day, more of the balloons took off from various areas around the park and one just outside our site. A man in a wheelchair was one of the balloonist
The balloonists attempt to touch the water and rise up again. This shot was taken from London Bridge.
One evening we had dinner at Hangar 21, a popular spot for craft beers.
We even introduced Mark and Heidi to Indian food while in Havasu. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit weird but the food was delicious
We drove over to the SARA Park where the Xscapers Bash was being held.
After 3 days we left Havasu and moved on to Quartzsite for more fun and slightly warmer weather expected in the mid-sixties.
I love Havasu!!! Only been there once when i was a in my 20’s but that place is a party.
