June – October 2023 Made It To Destination Number Six, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

New state, Ohio, new city Cleveland, and Cleveland Rocks! We did go through Pennsylvania on the way. The driver apologizes for not turning on the windshield wipers in time.

Geneva, OH was a bit of a disappointment, as we had visions of Switzerland, oh no!

The park was wooded and quite primitive, but we had hookups. The water hookups were a bit different but a friendly neighbor helped us out.

We were one street away from Lake Erie which had a lovey beach and was very popular. You’d never guess this was a lake it’s like being at the ocean/seaside.

In the next bay was a large marina consisting of fishing boats

So here we are, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which we’ve been looking forward to visiting for some time.

Chris dropped off Steve here and went on a search for parking, strange they don’t offer it but they’re situated next to a dock which had plenty of spots. Fortunately they offered electric scooters which Steve took advantage of or we wouldn’t have been able to go in.

They had 6 floors of exhibits, which started  with the roots of rock and roll, the artists, instruments, styles, genres, venues etc.. There’s a lot to read and video shorts to watch.

Chris really enjoyed the British Invasion section, fun to sit and watch long forgotten artists of the 60’s.

It’s pretty obvious who the photographer was here, Chris would have focused on the stage outfits.

They also had a room where they had two employees who offered instruments, microphones and encouraged folks to come and jam. One asked Chris if she wanted to play, she said she just got a bass from our friend TJ, but had not started her lessons yet LOL. The museum was not terribly crowded, but the visitors were people of a certain era, our generation, which is why we were pretty sure they’d have electric scooters.

The Fountain of Eternal Life also known as the War Memorial and Peace Arising from the Flames of War. The sculpture, which honors Cleveland’s hero’s  who served, died, or were declared missing in military service, is situated on Veterans’ Memorial Plaza

Final verdict: Chris enjoyed it, Steve was glad we went but was under-impressed.

Off to the zoo!

  1. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a bucket list item for us. We don’t get back east very often but will need to make a point of visiting the Hall on our next trip.
